Update #7: Thursday 10 September 2020

Our Health and Safety Officer, John Jensen, is recommending using masks at Sunday Services to help reduce the potential spread of COVID 19 in our church. While mask-wearing is not compulsory if you would like to wear one, you may bring your own or there will be disposable masks available at the original welcome door. Jason and Alistair on behalf of the Elder's reiterate if you are feeling unwell or if you have recently traveled to Auckland we recommend you enjoy our services at home online.

Update #6: Wednesday 19 May 2020

Update #5: Tuesday 19 May 2020

In Alert Level 2 our Entire Complex is closed to the general public. This may change throughout level 2. We intend to adhere to a Worksafe Plan that we have submitted to the Presbyterian Church Head Office. Once this has been approved it will then look at how we can potentially open ministries.

A copy of the Worksafe Plan can be accessed through our website soon.

Update #4: Wednesday 25 March 2020
Greetings St Andrews.
As you are aware our entire nation is to be in lockdown, and only "essential" businesses are to remain open. Although we all understand that the Lord's work is well and truly "essential" business, we also understand the call to submission to our governing authorities. So for the next four weeks, our Church Office will be closed, and we will not be having any church services. This will be revised after four weeks. This means that our physical office will be completely shut down with no one on-site, however, you will still be able to contact me through our office email address office@standrewsgld.org.nz or you can call or text Maia Rae's cellphone anytime during the hours of 9 am-2 pm Tuesday-Friday. Please feel free to contact me during this time and I will do my best to help you within the means of our national lockdown.
You can also contact Alistair or Jason.

If you need prayer please feel free to contact me, if you'd just like to chat please feel free to contact me.

In times of uncertainty, it is vital to our entire wellbeing (mental, emotional, physical, spiritual) that we continue to seek the hand of God. We call out to Him, and we intercede on behalf of our nation, of the world.

Update #2: Thursday 19th March 2020
We will be releasing an update regarding our services this Sunday, at 9 pm on Friday 20th March 2020. Please check your emails, our Facebook page, or our church website for our update tomorrow night.

Update #1: Wednesday 18th March 2020

As you may be aware COVID 19 has been a tragic epidemic across the world. We are now experiencing cases of the coronavirus here in New Zealand.

St Andrews Church, Geraldine understands this can be an unsettling time, and we empathize with all those who are being affected by this. In response to this, our church is receiving updates from Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand & the Ministry of Health. As a response to the pandemics, St Andrews Church is activating a COVID 19 task group which includes a number of health practitioners within our church and community as well as a few of our Elders. Rev. Alistair McNaughton, Snr Elder. Jason Shaw, Elder Andrew Morris, Health Nurse Suzie Campbell, Health Nurse Jessica Scott, Health & Safety Officer John Jensen, and Diana Jordan will make up the COVID 19 task group.

Until further developments, we will be canceling the Rob Berg Concert, and all combined services for the foreseeable future.

We recommend that those with illnesses, underlying health issues, and flu symptoms worship virtually via our churches podcasts found

We also advise a reduction on the skin to skin contact such as hugging, handshakes, etc

We recognize that this is maybe an inconvenience, but for the health and safety of our church and community, we believe this is the best way to go about adhering to the PCANZ & Ministry of Health requirements.

During this time please keep businesses and business owners within our church and community affected by the economic disruptions in your prayers.

Below is some basic info around COVID 19, but you can find more information at the Ministry of Health website.
